It is the first time in half a month, two weeks since the last post.
Half a year has passed since I remade this site and started drawing a lot. It’s been a tough half-year with Coronavirus, and I feel that there are some questions about the meaning of drawing pictures and illustrations and why I do it now.
It’s more sensuous because I draw something that comes to my mind rather than thinking and drawing, but I have an idea or image to draw something like this, and I ask myself what I want to do and how I want to draw it now. It feels like you are stepping down one step at a time.
I draw it with digital, but it depends what kind of feeling do I want to draw. Software has any so many tools for drawing, many effects and so on. It is quite free, it is too free so I think the question what and how to draw.
An illustration which people can spread their imagination on there. This illustration I was thinking that kind of direction. Or it seems some characters are going to appear, so it’s a like background of an animation?
It’s been about 10 years since I last visited in India. I miss atmosphere of Himalaya, north India as Vashisht, Dharamsala. I have lived in upper Bhagsu which is next valley of Dharamsala so it close and almost one area.
One day my dream is to go with my child. First of all, I hope that the corona will converge and return to the world where people can travel normally like this. I didn’t expect an airline company to crash or a plane to fly in such a sudden situation this year.
Dharamsala is a small shop that has nature, mountains, air, etc. close to the Himalayas, the Pope Dalai Lama, Tibetan monks, Tibetan food, Tibetan grandfather grandmothers and young people. Therefore, although it is India, the cultural base is Tibet.
In 2006, I made a trip to Tibet with a friend and set out on a trip. I went by boat from Osaka to Shanghai, then by train to Dunhuang, met with friends, went to Kashgar and took a bus from West Tibet. It is a picture at that time.
My first trip to India was in 2003, and the encounters vary in how people really affect me, but in my case it was Krishnamurti.
I met and read Krishnamurti’s Japanese translation at a bookstore in Kathmandu, Nepal, and then I went to India, Nepal, Thailand, Bali, etc. for a year and a half while reading that book. ..
This video is a round-table discussion with physicists and scientists. It’s not easy that I can’t quite listen to it properly, but I think it’s cool to see just what it looks like now.
I have a memorial photo so I will post it. It was when I was teaching at Dharamsala around October 2008. It is H.H. Dalai Lama who has only his face in front of the statue in the back.
My favorite music lately.
It seems making sounds is so much fun…
